My July KnitCrate* Came!

Yes, you read that right. July.

There were some shipping issues because of the pandemic, but the important thing is it finally got here.

When I first opened it I was so excited to see grey. Grey is one of my favourite colours to wear! The bright tissue paper was also really fun.

This is an Uru.Yarn DK weight in 100% organic cotton. It’s a nice yarn and cotton was a great choice for July.

KnitCrate always includes an extra, and this one… I’m pretty sure it’s a Tunisian crochet hook of some sort. I can’t think of a reason why you’d need a cord on a regular crochet hook.

The pattern this month is a shawl. I’m probably going to save this yarn for something else because I haven’t really figured out how to wear shawls. I like that it includes a pattern for knitting, crochet, and for knit and crochet socks for the sock crate.

What I’m not wild about is it shows you the other colours you could have gotten. I love my grey, but the indigo is really, really pretty and a part of me is like, oh, well, why didn’t I get that?

Also, there’s no mention of what the extra gift is or Tunisian crochet. It feels a bit… mismatched.

All up, I love KnitCrate and I’m happy with this crate. Cotton yarn is one of my favourites and it’s grey! I’m also excited to have a really good reason to start Tunisian Crochet if that what the hook is for.
