Four Conclusions about Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020

Four Conclusions about Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020

So, after spending probably far too much time perusing the men’s fashion week shows for Spring/Summer 2020, I’ve commented on the pieces I like that are definitely DIY-able and made some observations and conclusions…

Diamond pinstripes are in.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, all I can think of is the HIMYM episode where Barney buys a suit with diamonds for pinstripes. It makes me giggle a little bit every time.

That said, I’m definitely into it.

Crystal and diamond embellishments were actually huge. As a DIY-er I love it. Throwing crystals on stuff is one of the easiest things to do.

Embellished blazers are a thing.

There’s always a lot of embellished blazers in men’s fashion week. What I found interesting about this season is a lot of it is asymmetrical or just concentrated in certain regions as opposed to all over shimmer. It makes sense, everyone loves a good basic and it’s cool when your basic becomes just a little bit more. Maybe we’ve hit peak full on embellished blazer and are throwing it back to simpler things?

Apparently the seventies-nineties is all the rage.

Basically there was no overarching theme. There was a lot of seventies silhouettes, eighties hip hop references and nineties…. nightmares? Most collections had a vintage-y vibe, but the era’s varied significantly.

I still want the a trip to the moon outfit.

I think we may have defined my personal style with this one.

I’m not even kidding. I think about it at least once a day.

It’s so beautiful.
