Hey there!

My name’s Sandy Salierno and I love making clothes!

Easter has come and gone and yet I still feel like it’s January. I don’t understand how time has gone by so fast.

I haven’t worked much on my nephew’s layette- I went to buy new buttons on Saturday but the shop was closed. I’m hoping to get back there sometime this week.

I’ve also put my sweater aside because I needed the needles for something new…

I found out one of my dearest friends is having a girl! I knew I wanted something insanely classy and adorable so I thought of this Heirloom Set I’ve been wanting to make for ages. I headed to my stash and found this Rico Essentials Merino DK and knew it would be perfect. Now, I don’t often give things that aren’t superwash to people for babies because laundry, but I know my friend’s partner knows how to take care of wool. I’m super excited to gift them something amazingly luxurious and honestly, just super cute.

I was thinking I might dye it after I finish, but looking at that little bonnet… I mean. It’s so vintage-y and perfect. I’m making that, the sweater, and the booties if I have enough yarn.

I spent Easter Sunday working on my Temperature Blanket. I’m still behind, but I really realized how much I love working on this. I’ve really got the hang of it so I’m working basically off muscle memory. It’s simple and mindless in the best way possible. It’s just meditative. Absolute perfection. I also introduced a new colour for the first time. I would say I was more excited than I should have been, but I thought I was a perfect level of excited. Watching this thing grow has been amazing.

I’ve made it in Drops Karisma, a superwash wool, so it’s also very, very warm. We’ve been having a cold snap so holding this on my lap is top-notch perfection.

I’ve also started assembling the pattern for the dress I’m going to wear in Greece. It’s M8147- I’m making view B. I started putting together the pattern but Baxter decided it was playtime so alas, I had to stop. I need to finish this by April 22nd, so wish me luck!

That’s all I have for you this week. I feel like I did so much more… but I suppose I did finish the entire bonnet!
