Is there anything better than a free sock pattern?

How about one that is well written, fun to knit, and super cute?

I knit this up in yarn from Apple Oak Fibre Works. It’s 60% wool, 20% silk, 20% ramie and dyed with their elderberry dye kit.

This pattern is excellent. It’s a cuff down, heel flap and gusset sock with a Kitchener stitch toe. The pattern repeats are easy to memorize, and the instructions are exceptionally well written. This would make a great first sock project!

I love how it knit up in my variegated yarn and I can’t picture a yarn this wouldn’t look great in. I’m currently staring at some tea dyed skeins that might lend themselves to a bit of a cottage library vibe.
